OVERVIEW
Why Start Music Early? (Even From Birth)
Children are born ready for music.
They recognise rhythm, tone, and the familiar sound of their caregiver’s voice from birth.
During the first year, a baby’s brain is developing at an extraordinary rate.
Music helps to shape this development in meaningful ways, supporting:
- early communication pathways
- emotional bonding and attachment
- sensory and body awareness
- shared attention and social connection
Your baby does not need to do anything to benefit.
Simply being held in music – rocked, sung to, and supported – is enough.
These moments are foundational. They are the quiet beginnings of communication and connection.

OUR APPROACH
Why Live Music Matters
Unlike programs that rely on recorded tracks or high stimulation environments, our sessions use live, responsive music.
This means the therapist can:
- follow your child’s cues
- soften or slow music when a child needs support
- brighten and expand when they are ready to explore
- reduce input when signs of overstimulation appear
Music becomes a tool for co-regulation, not performance.
Your baby is never expected to keep up.
We move gently, in the rhythm that is right for them.

WHY CHOOSE QPAH?
Led by Registered Music Therapists
Our groups are facilitated by clinicians trained in:
- early childhood development
- sensory processing and regulation
- infant mental health and attachment
- responsive communication
This means we understand how to:
- notice subtle signals of “too much” or “just right”
- adjust pacing, touch, movement, and sound appropriately
- create a safe environment for bonding and early learning
We support you to recognise your baby’s cues too – so the benefits continue well beyond the session.
This is what sets these groups apart.
